Maple Grove's Brad Davison Named a Scholar Athlete

MINNEAPOLIS, MN - April 14, 2017 - The Minnesota Chapter of the National Football Foundation is pleased to announce Maple Grove Senior High student Brad Davison as a 2017 Scholar Athlete. Davison and the other winners, chosen for academic excellence, leadership and community involvement, will be recognized at the 10 Year Anniversary of the Minnesota Football Honors on Sunday, May 7 at U.S. Bank Stadium.

Davison quarterbacked the Crimson to three state tournament appearances and a 27-7 record. The 2016 Star Tribune Metro Player of the Year was also named to the AP All-State First Team and USA Today Minnesota All-State Team. Davison passed for more than 2,400 yards and rushed for more than 900. He completed 43 career passing touchdowns and rushed for 25 and holds all of Maple Grove’s records. Davison will play basketball at Wisconsin next winter.

In the classroom, Davison has held an “A” average to rank near the top of his class. He has earned three Presidential Education Awards and is a National Honor Society member, school site council member and Link Leader. Davison plans to major in business management or finance in college.

Davison has put in more than 120 hours of volunteer work with youth football and basketball, volunteering throughout the course of the year. He has gone on service trips to Jamaica and Costa Rica, and also volunteering at Shriners Prom closer to home.

The 10 Year Anniversary of the Minnesota Football Honors will be held Sunday, May 7, 2017 at U.S. Bank Stadium. College and professional football Hall of Fame inductees are scheduled to attend to celebrate the best of Minnesota football. The largest football awards event in the state is presented by the Minnesota Vikings. The event is open to the public.
