"It is an incredible honor to represent the entire Minnesota football community by receiving this award from the National Football Foundation," Todd Fultz said. "Football has been a constant companion of mine since I was a young boy. It was a mentor during my formative years for which I am grateful."
Fultz has been a dedicated ambassador of local, national and international football for more than four decades. Fultz became president of the Minnesota Chapter of the National Football Foundation in 2018. Under his leadership, the chapter is at the forefront of innovation and creativity.
The NFF MN Chapter hosts Minnesota Football Honors, an annual television show that honors top high school, college and Minnesota Vikings award winners. Each year, in collaboration with the chapter’s presenting sponsor, the Minnesota Vikings, Minnesota Football Honors is hosted and filmed at TCO Performance Center. The show later airs across a five-state region on Bally Sports North. As part of this event, the Minnesota Chapter awards $10,000 in scholarships to local scholar-athletes each year. Fultz continues to elevate the chapter by building critical partnerships with key stakeholders, including sponsors, media, coaches and influential football figures.
Throughout his career, Fultz has created and hosted football shows on MSC, Fox Sports North and Bally Sports. Todd also spearheaded the creation of the Minnesota Football Honors Super 6 Team, which recognizes six Minnesota high school seniors with the greatest potential to succeed at the highest levels of football.
Fultz, an all-state wide receiver at Forest Lake High School, was inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame. He then became a record-setting college wide receiver under legendary St. John’s head coach John Gagliardi. A 1991 graduate of St. John’s, Fultz finished his career as the Johnnies’ all-time leading receiver. He also set two NCAA playoff receiving records and was named team MVP. Fultz’s outstanding football accomplishments earned him a spot in the Minnesota Football Old Timers Hall of Fame. In addition, the star wide receiver played for Team USA in the 1991 All-Star Bowl in Stuttgart, Germany.
Fultz carried his love for football into coaching roles at Forest Lake, Eden Prairie and Stillwater High Schools. In 1997, Todd was named head coach of the Minneapolis Lumberjacks and guided the team to the MFL Championship. Fultz is deeply passionate about promoting American football globally. He advances this mission by hosting Minnesota football teams for games in Ireland. From 1991-1996, Fultz promoted six international bowl games across Ireland and Northern Ireland.
A recipient of the 2011 NFF MN Chapter Courage Award, Fultz is a renowned motivational speaker and author of “The Year of Little Victories,” which chronicles his recovery from a severe car accident in 2008. Fultz also owns construction and consulting companies in the Twin Cities.
