FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Aug. 21, 2023  –  The Minnesota Chapter of the National Football Foundation is proud to present Bloomington Jefferson High School’s Ethan Glynn with this year’s Minnesota Football Honors Courage Award. Glynn will be honored during this summer’s Minnesota Football Honors broadcast.

A simple tackle changed Bloomington Jefferson football player Ethan Glynn’s life. During a freshman football game in 2022, Glynn slid through a blocker, but launched forward awkwardly while making contact with the ball carrier. At that point, Ethan knew something was wrong. He couldn’t feel anything.

Glynn was rushed to the hospital where he underwent three major surgeries. The accident left Glynn paralyzed from the upper bicep down. After recovering from all of the extensive surgeries, Glynn was sent to Colorado for specialized rehab. Every day, Ethan worked extremely hard and maintained a positive mindset. Glynn attacked each challenge because he knew what was waiting for him when he returned to Minnesota - sports and his friends. Like always, Ethan was ready to support and lift up his teammates during their games and activities.

“We couldn’t be more proud of Ethan for the way he has attacked all of the challenges and adversity he’s faced over the past year. He continues to maintain a positive mindset and is focused on lifting others up around him,” said Todd Fultz, President of the Minnesota Chapter of the National Football Foundation and 2011 Courage Award winner. “His courage, determination, positivity and contagious energy are inspiring so many people each and every day.”

Minnesota Football Honors is hosting a television show to honor this year’s high school, college and Minnesota Vikings award winners. An official broadcast date will be announced soon on www.minnesotafootballhonors.com.
