FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Sept. 6, 2022 – The Minnesota Chapter of the National Football Foundation is proud to honor six top Minnesota high school football players by creating the Minnesota Football Honors Super 6 Team.

Each year, the Minnesota Chapter of the National Football Foundation selection committee will vote for the six best Minnesota high school football players while using the following criteria: overall football talent, recruiting rankings and future athletic potential. The player must also participate in his senior football season to be eligible for the Super 6 Team.

“We wanted to create a team that identifies and honors the best pure football talent in Minnesota. Many of our top high school players go on to represent our state at the college and NFL levels. If you look back, football history is headlined by many athletes that our state produced. We are going to find and recognize players with that level of potential,” said Todd Fultz, President of the Minnesota Chapter of the National Football Foundation.

Committee members took all of the above factors into consideration while voting for the inaugural Minnesota Football Honors Super 6 Team. After deliberating over a strong list of candidates, the committee selected the following players to this year’s team:

OT Lucas Heyer - Hill-Murray High School - College: Stanford

DE Trey Bixby - Eden Prairie High School - College: Minnesota

WR Kristen Hoskins - Alexandria High School - College: Minnesota

DE Chase Carter - Minnehaha Academy - College: Michigan State

TE Chase Androff - Lakeville South High School - College: Nebraska

OT Tony Nelson - Tracy High School - College: Minnesota

Each player on the inaugural Minnesota Football Honors Super 6 Team is attending Power 5 college football programs this year. Our chapter is incredibly proud of the football talent within our state and we look forward to honoring these outstanding players during the Minnesota Football Honors show.

The broadcast is slated to air on Sept. 9, 2022 at 8 p.m. CT on Bally Sports North. Visit nffmn.org for complete details and re-air dates.
