FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – June 28, 2022 –  Bethel defensive back Nate Farm has been named the Division III Bobby Bell College Impact Player of the Year by the Minnesota Chapter of the National Football Foundation. This award is presented annually to the top Division III college football player in Minnesota. Farm will be recognized during this summer’s Minnesota Football Honors show.

“Nate was one of the best young players in the country last year. He quickly emerged and significantly contributed to Bethel’s football program. He was always around the ball and making plays for the Royals,” said Todd Fultz, President of the Minnesota Chapter of the National Football Foundation. “We are looking forward to honoring Nate during this year’s television broadcast.”

It did not take long for Nate Farm to make an impression within Bethel’s football program. The freshman defensive back finished the season with a team-high 81 tackles (tied for third among MIAC players). Farm not only made tackles all over the field, but found the football too. The young defensive back led the entire MIAC with six total interceptions. Farm also added five pass breakups, one sack and a fumble recovery in 2021.

The former Mounds View graduate’s outstanding play earned him recognition as a First Team All-American selection by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA). Farm was one of just two freshmen named to a 2021 All-American team, joining St. Olaf punter Tyler Huettel. Additionally, Nate became the 10th AFCA All-America selection in Bethel football history. Farm was also the program’s first AFCA All-American player since safety Dawson Brown (First Team) and defensive end Kyle Kilgore (Second Team) were selected in 2018.

Minnesota Football Honors is hosting a show later this summer to honor its high school, college and Minnesota Vikings award winners. Full broadcast details will be announced in the coming weeks on www.minnesotafootballhonors.com.
