FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – March 28, 2022 –  Redwood Valley High School’s Drew Lundeen has been named a Scholar-Athlete by the Minnesota Chapter of the National Football Foundation. This annual award honors Minnesota high school football players for their outstanding athletic, academic and community service accomplishments. Lundeen, a native of Redwood Falls, Minnesota, is one of eight scholar-athletes who will be recognized during this summer’s Minnesota Football Honors show.

“Drew epitomizes what we want this award to be about,” said Todd Fultz, President of the Minnesota Chapter of the National Football Foundation. “He is not only an outstanding football player, but he understands the importance of community service and academic achievement. We are thrilled to honor him during our show.”

Drew Lundeen, the 2021 District Wide Receiver of the Year, was a versatile and dynamic playmaker for Redwood Valley. Lundeen created matchup challenges for defenses and set the school record for touchdowns in a game and half. Drew was also a disruptive linebacker, finishing his Redwood Valley career fifth all-time in defensive points scored. Lundeen’s excellent accomplishments ultimately earned him a spot on the Minnesota Vikings All-State team.

“Drew has been a huge asset to our athletic programs, school, and community. He has left his mark on this town and school, for more reasons than all the records he has broken or wins he has been a part of,” said boys basketball coach and fourth grade teacher Aaron Lindahl. “He is a servant to everyone around him, and this town and school are in a better place because of everything Drew has done to help it. Drew is going to go on and do great things in his future.”

Off the field, Lundeen was a Fellowship of Christian Athletes Huddle Leader and volunteered with Ruby’s Pantry, the blood mobile, and youth sports camps. He also finished his academic career with a 4.0 GPA, which earned him Academic All-State honors.

Minnesota Football Honors is hosting a show later this summer to honor its high school, college and Minnesota Vikings award winners. Full broadcast details will be announced in the coming weeks on www.minnesotafootballhonors.com.
