FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – April 27, 2021 –  Worthington High School’s Godmar Gach has been named a Stacy Robinson Leadership Award winner by the Minnesota Chapter of the National Football Foundation. Gach, a native of Worthington, Minnesota, is one of two student-athletes who will receive this honor during an upcoming television broadcast.

“It is always special to honor student-athletes like Godmar who have achieved outstanding things on the field and in the community,” said Todd Fultz, President of the Minnesota Chapter of the National Football Foundation. “Godmar has impacted many people around him and represents all of the values the late Stacy Robinson lived his life by.”

Godmar Gach was a star offensive and defensive lineman for the Worthington Trojans. The team captain not only impacted his teammates but made a difference in his local community. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, Gach volunteered to deliver food through the Meals on Wheels program. He paid for his own gas and delivered four meals a week to people who needed it most. Gach also frequently assists the local food pantry and helps with local spring cleanup. Whether he is teaching his teammates a new drill or leading a community activity, Gach’s giving spirit leaves a lasting mark on others.

“He is the first to volunteer and the last to leave. When Godmar says he will be there, you never have to worry about him not showing up,” said Worthington head coach Gene Lais. “He enjoys doing activities like this because it is rewarding to him and he feels like he is giving back and helping others.”

This award honors the late Stacy Robinson, a St. Paul Central graduate who left a strong legacy of community leadership and excellence in athletics.

Minnesota Football Honors is hosting a show to honor this year’s high school, college and Minnesota Vikings award winners. Special guests will be featured, including Vikings players. An official broadcast date will be announced soon on www.minnesotafootballhonors.com.
