FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – March 17, 2020 – Due to the recent COVID-19 pandemic, the Minnesota Football Honors event scheduled for April 26 at U.S. Bank Stadium has been canceled. However, an award presentation will eventually occur at a different location and time.

The CDC and local health officials recently announced recommended restrictions on public gatherings. Right now, everyone across the country needs to prioritize their health and wellness. The safety of others is paramount as we battle COVID-19. We are evaluating future options to honor our award winners at a later date. No matter what, each award winner will receive their scholarship package and trophy.

“As the world battles COVID-19, the safety of everyone in our community is very important right now,” said Todd Fultz, President of the Minnesota Chapter of the National Football Foundation. “We will be exploring all future methods to honor the outstanding accomplishments of Minnesota’s football icons, College Football Hall of Famers and top scholar athletes.”

This is an evolving situation and we will provide an update when more information is available. Thank you for your continued support and please be safe.
