ST THOMAS RUNNING BACK JOSH PARKS NAMED DIVISION III BOBBY BELL COLLEGE IMPACT PLAYER OF THE YEAR

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – March 5, 2020 –  St. Thomas running back Josh Parks has been named the Division III Bobby Bell College Impact Player of the Year by the Minnesota Chapter of the National Football Foundation. This award is presented annually to the top Division III college football player in Minnesota. Parks will be recognized at the 13th Annual Minnesota Football Honors on Sunday, April 26 at U.S. Bank Stadium.

“Josh Parks’ career in the MIAC is one of great success and consistency,” said Todd Fultz, President of the Minnesota Chapter of the National Football Foundation. “His impact with the Tommies has been a cornerstone to their success. We are proud to honor Josh with this award.”

Parks ended his career as the Tommies’ all-time leading rusher (4,180 yards) and holds the school record for touchdowns (60 total). He earned the 2019 Jim Christopherson Player of the Year Award, which is presented to the top player in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC). Parks became just the fifth St. Thomas player to receive this honor. In addition, he holds the conference record for most rushing touchdowns in MIAC games (45).

During his senior campaign, Parks racked up 176 carries, 1,249 yards and 18 rushing touchdowns. He also hauled in 11 catches for 214 yards and three receiving scores. Parks was named a First Team All-American by D3football.com. He also received Second Team honors from the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA). The Tommies’ star was one of 12 semifinalists for the Gagliardi Trophy, which honors the most outstanding player in Division III football. 

The Minnesota Chapter of the National Football Foundation will host the 13th Annual Minnesota Football Honors on Sunday, April 26, 2020 at U.S. Bank Stadium. The largest football awards show in Minnesota is presented by the Minnesota Vikings. Doors open at 2 p.m. for the 4 p.m. show.
