MINNEAPOLIS, MN - April 3, 2019 - Jacob Bennett of Zumbrota-Mazeppa High School has been named a Scholar Athlete by the Minnesota Chapter of the National Football Foundation. To cap off a high school career in which he earned the Cougars’ offensive or defensive MVP award each year, Bennett played in the Minnesota Football Showcase at U.S. Bank Stadium. In recognition of both athletic and academic achievement, Bennett has received the ExCEL Award and Academic All-State accolades. He is a National Honor Society member and honor roll student. In addition to his athletic scholarship at Minnesota State, he also received an academic scholarship, and is interested in studying sports medicine.

Bennett has volunteered his time as a youth football coach and a senior mentor. He has also put in significant community service hours through National Honor Society.
