MINNEAPOLIS, MN - March 27, 2019 - Washburn High School senior Latrell Bible has been named the Stacy Robinson Leadership Award winner by the Minnesota Chapter of the National Football Foundation. Bible will be recognized at the 12th Annual Minnesota Football Honors on Saturday, April 27 at US Bank Stadium.

Bible has thrived as a student-athlete at Washburn in fulfilling his goal of earning a college scholarship. The incoming University of Wyoming Cowboy was part of Washburn football’s leadership team for four years, including serving as a captain as a senior. Millers coach Ryan Galindo said Bible provided vocal leadership both on and off the field.

He also led by example, committing to improving himself in the weight room and at practice. Bible started on both the offensive and defensive line for the Millers. He received all-state honors, was named District Offensive Lineman of the Year and was selected to play in the 2018 Minnesota High School All-Star Game. Bible also excelled in throwing for Washburn’s track and field team.

Bible is active in his community, volunteering regularly at a local church and assisting at numerous youth football camps. He has done this while maintaining a high grade point average in rigorous coursework. His motivation throughout high school was for his grandmother not to worry about college, and he achieved this goal through focused commitment to athletics, academics, character and leadership.

The Stacy Robinson Leadership Award is named for the St. Paul Central graduate who left a legacy of leadership in the community in addition to excellence on the field at all levels of sports.

The Minnesota Chapter of the National Football Foundation will host the 12th Annual Minnesota Football Honors on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at U.S. Bank Stadium.
